Between before and after

About the fundamental solitude of waiting and worrying about what your future will hold.

Sitting in the waiting room of the breast clinic is a very concrete moment in time. It's a liminal moment. You enter the room one way, and you know that no matter what, you will leave it in a different way.

Either the ultrasound and photo show that everything is fine, you will be relieved, and your worries are over; or something is not right, then your future suddenly looks very different.

This series is a visualization of that moment and its ultimate loneliness.
