Annet Neijmeijer BIO

Annet Neijmeijer investigates time and space through photography and installation, combining conceptual research with experimental approaches that often push beyond the traditional boundaries of the medium.

Her work is driven by a fascination with how we experience time and space, and how these fundamental coordinates shape our lives. At the same time, she engages with their scientific dimension: the laws of physics that govern the universe, offering structure and clarity.

By merging the personal and emotional with the theoretical and abstract, Annet creates photographic works and multimedia installations that invite visitors to experience these elements in a deeply individual way.

Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions such as AEON at Atelier K84, Amsterdam (2024), at the Pennings Foundation, Eindhoven (2025), and De Lieve Vrouw, Amersfoort (2025), as well as in collaborative and group exhibitions including UNFOLD at Leiden Art Hub (2025), The Comfort of Beauty at Rietveldpaviljoen Amersfoort (2024), and Exposed at Loods 6 Amsterdam (2024). Her work has appeared in Pf Magazine (2024) and Het Parool (2024).

Annet studied Conceptual Imaging at the FotoAcademie Amsterdam (2022–2024), graduating cum laude.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Annet had a successful career in communications for various NGOs. Her studies in anthropology and professional background in the humanitarian sector gives her a deep, reflective perspective on the world, engaging with the interplay between the rational and the intuitive, the explainable and the emotional.
